Dear colleagues and members,

The SOFCEP is not only a learned society: above all, it is a community — a professional family united by strong values. It embodies a way of practicing aesthetic surgery that goes beyond technique, nourished by sharing, transmission, ethics, and conviviality. These are the principles that have always guided our actions and ensured the recognition and legitimacy of our specialty, both among our patients and within society.

In a context where aesthetic medicine and surgery are experiencing unprecedented growth, it is our responsibility to remind everyone that our profession cannot be reduced to a mere service activity.
We are witnessing the rise of commercial structures offering standardized aesthetic treatments driven by profitability and volume, often at the expense of personalization and, at times, even safety. Such chains trivialize our practice, reducing it to just another consumer product.

Yet, we all know this is not what our profession stands for. Aesthetic medicine and surgery require extensive and demanding training, deep experience, and a human-centered approach that focuses on each patient — their story, their expectations, and their unique needs. What distinguishes a medical approach from one of mere seduction is the quality of listening, the accuracy of indications, the precision of the act, and the responsibility we bear toward those who place their trust in us.

This is the message the SOFCEP has championed since its creation: to promote an excellent and respectful practice founded on science, rigor, and ethics.
To defend our values is to defend the individuality of our practices, the richness of our professional journeys, the diversity of our experiences, and the central role of the human relationship in our work.

We will carry this ambition together during our next major event: the SOFCEP Annual Congress, to be held from May 28 to 30, 2026, in Biarritz.

This emblematic city — both elegant and dynamic — will provide the ideal setting to combine scientific excellence, conviviality, and art de vivre. Between sessions, Biarritz will offer an inspiring and welcoming environment, perfect for meeting, exchanging, and sharing enjoyable moments together.

The chosen theme, “Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine: Innovation, Realities, and Future Perspectives in the Age of AI,” reflects our commitment to remain at the forefront of progress.
Artificial intelligence is already transforming the medical world, and it is our duty to explore its contributions, its limitations, and its prospects, in order to better anticipate its role in our daily practice.
The congress will also benefit from being held jointly with the Aesthetica Congress, dedicated to aesthetic medicine, offering a complementary and resolutely modern vision of our specialty.

But beyond the conferences and scientific discussions, this congress will also be a time for conviviality and fellowship — true to the spirit of SOFCEP. What unites us is not only our passion for our profession, but also the joy of sharing warm, friendly human moments that strengthen our bonds and fuel our collective energy.

I therefore invite you, as of today, to save the dates and join us for this highlight of our professional life.
We look forward to seeing many of you in Biarritz, to make this congress a moment of innovation, a defense of our values, and a celebration of our shared conviviality.

With kind regards,

Nicolas Georgieu
President of SOFCEP 2025–2026
